Nice pub, a million miles from what it used to be. Door staff were particularly friendly and engaging.
The Tipsy Pig serves several real ales, one of which I tried this evening and enjoyed. There's no obtrusive music. There's a mixture of seating: from sofas, through comfortable armchairs, then hard chairs, to bar stools. The place was reasonably busy by the time we left at 7pm on a Friday evening, but it was friendly and relaxed. The pub is visually interesting. There's one TV screen, which is unfortunate, but at least it was showing a silent Chaplin film, rather than sports. The pub is slightly off the beaten track in Romsey, but worth visiting. I didn't try the food, but the menu majored on pizza and bread.
Slightly different from what else is on offer in Romsey. Real ale, nice interior. Beards optional. Anyone for a game of Pass the Pigs?
This I a wonderful place. Plenty of interesting, flavoursome drinks to choose from. Beers changed frequently, cider range brilliant and a good selection of gins and wine.Has a friendly, lively vibe but open to all age ranges. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable about how the beer is made, should be stored, should look, tastes etc. Always happy to recommend something and if it's on tap you can try it before you buy.Music nights, knitting nights, good value pizza nights, good selection of good everyday (not a wide selection but a well planned and executed selection)No parking as its in town but it is just round the corner from the free car park.
